Your practitioner will create a treatment plan for you which commonly includes 10-12 treatments over a month or two. In order to gain benefits, it’s important to stick with your treatment plan. Acupuncture is a therapy and a process. Each treatment builds upon the last to bring more relief and a greater sense of well-being. Each person and their symptoms are unique, so treatment plans do vary.

Most people find acupuncture treatments to be VERY relaxing, so relaxing they take a nap while at the clinic. You may feel a slight sensation while needles are inserted, but most people feel very little. Your treatment should be a peaceful and comforting experience.

Your first visit to the clinic will include a consultation with our acupuncturist Nicole, as well as your first treatment. Please wear loose fitting clothes that you can roll up to your elbows and your knees. Bring a blanket if you like to be cozy. Many people cool off as they rest.

Nicole, your acupuncturist, continues to wear a mask while in the clinic for the sake of protecting the more vulnerable members of our community. Please feel free to wear one if you like.

Everyone responds differently to acupuncture. Depending on the condition for which you asked to be treated, its severity, and whether it is acute of chronic, you may find that you experience some immediate relief or notice no change. Relief may be dramatic or subtle, and it may be short-lived or last for several days. Change is rarely permanent following just one treatment. For acute conditions you are likely to feel relief during the treatment and/or in the few hours following it. For chronic conditions the changes may be subtle or not noticeable right away. Occasionally, (in about 5% of cases) the issue being treated gets worse for 24 hours following the session, followed by great relief. A general rule is any change is a good sign, but don’t be discouraged if you feel no change at all after just one treatment. Your practitioner will give you a treatment plan and explain when you should start to feel better!

Our Community Acupuncture sliding scale allows more people to access acupuncture and herbal medicine. Our Initial Appointment is $60 and we offer a Needs Based Sliding Scale that allows you to pay anywhere between $60-40. Our Follow Up Appointments are $50 and we offer a Needs Based Sliding Scale that allows you to pay between $50-25. Those that can pay higher on the scale help secure access to this gentle and effective healthcare for those who need to pay lower on the scale. We love this medicine and are so happy that the sliding scale allows us to offer it to more people! We do not ask you for any information to verify your income or financial standings. We trust our patients to make the choice for themselves while also thinking of the sustainability of the clinic.

We try to make it easy as possible and accept cash, credit cards and checks. You can even pay online before your treatments, put a credit card on file or put a lump sum in your account to be used over time via our online scheduler. Most health savings accounts work for acupuncture services.

As a holistic health clinic striving to create more access for more people, we do not work directly with the complications of health insurance. Payment is required at the time of service. We are happy to supply you with a superbill, which you can then submit to your insurance company and see if they will reimburse you directly.
Most health savings accounts work for acupuncture services.
We use our sliding scale to provide affordable and effective treatments to our community, which is about the price of a co-pay.

Thanks for asking! We appreciate your thoughtfulness. We require 24 hours notice for all scheduling changes. There is a $20 fee for all late cancels in Community Acupuncture and a 50% fee for all other services. When you give us ample time to try to fill your spot, it helps keep the clinic healthy. This fee is waived for illness or emergency.
