Flemington’s 5th Annual Corn, Tomato, and Beer Festival!

We are so excited to be a part of the 5th annual Corn, Tomato, & Beer Festival! Because this festival takes place on Stangl during a day we are open for appointments, we have some important news about the clinic regarding this day.

On Saturday, August 13th, we will be open for community acupuncture appointments from 11am – 3pm, as well as a private session opening from 3pm – 4pm. Our section of Stangl road will be closed for festival preparations from 7am on, so our normal parking situation will be changed. Parking will be available in the Liberty Village outlets lot near the Route 12 road entrance, which is just a short, mostly shaded, and enjoyable walk over to our clinic.

As for our participation in this event, we are excited to offer multiple fun attractions including free mini-acupuncture sessions from 4 – 6pm as well as coupon & free t-shirt giveaways! Read on to find out more about this awesome event and what’s in store for this year’s celebration!

On Saturday, August 13 the summer harvest meets the artisan district at Flemington’s Stangl Road, where the 5th Annual Corn, Tomato and Beer Festival celebrates sweet Jersey tomatoes, heirloom corn, local craft beer, live music, and family activities from noon to 8 p.m.

This unique event is attended by thousands. Additionally, this event offers farm-to-table cuisine and a homage to NJ’s beloved corn and tomato dishes as prepared by local restaurants and farmers, plus a beer garden featuring 10 local New Jersey craft breweries.

“Lone Eagle Brewing is excited to build on past event successes by bringing even more NJ craft brewers to this year’s festival. We love supporting our local NJ craft brewers and serving beer made from local ingredients,” said Bob King, owner of Lone Eagle Brewing and a member of the Flemington Community Partnership Board (FCP).

Foodies and fun-lovers will enjoy live bands, kids’ activities such as photos with fire trucks, crafts and face painting, vegetable stands, and artisan vendors on Stangl Road (closed to car traffic).

Denise Torbik, a festival organizer from the Flemington Fire Department, added, “CT&B Fest is the very best representation of all things New Jersey. At what other event can you get such an abundance of sweet Jersey corn, juicy fresh tomatoes, and a variety of local NJ craft beers? Flemington puts it all together in one event with something for everyone!”

“We’re so excited to bring this event back. It’s been really sad not being able to come together as a community for this well-loved event over the past few years,” said Jeremy Long, Flemington Borough Council President and Liaison to the FCP. “We are so fortunate to live in the heartland of Jersey’s famous corn and tomato farms, with a historic downtown Main Street and a new Arts and Cultural District on Stangl, and great community-oriented future growth – it is the best of both worlds.”

Flemington restaurants are celebrating the local harvest and gearing up for the festival by featuring creative corn and tomato dishes on their menus all summer long. At the festival, restaurants and food stands will offer variations on dishes featuring corn and tomatoes as well as the usual favorites. Featured items include roasted corn, gazpacho, wood-fired pizza, corn salad, homemade empanadas, Mexican street corn, pulled pork, quesadillas, heirloom tomato salad, and fresh salsas and gourmet kettle corn.

Festival-goers can complement these choices with refreshing beer, kombucha, fruit smoothies, fresh lemon and limeade, and frozen cheesecake on a stick. There is enough space to find a shady spot to relax if you bring a chair or a blanket.

Festival admission and parking are free. Take Route 12 to the parking lot entrance near Liberty Village and enter Stangl Road on foot from the south end by the Polo Outlet and Lone Eagle Brewing. The rain date for the event is Sunday, August 14.
