Reduce Sweating with Acupuncture

It’s good to sweat when you exercise. Or when it is really hot. Our body needs to sweat to cool us down and keep us well. For some, sweat happens too much and too often and without heat or physical exertion. Hyperhidrosis is defined as the production of perspiration beyond what is necessary to cool the body. When it is primary hyperhidrosis, the cause is unknown. This condition has been related to an over reaction of the sweat glands to both changes in temperatures and to physical and emotional stress. Hyperhidrosis can affect the feet, palms, underarms or the whole body. Some people find this condition to inhibit their normal activities. They shy away from social activities and are unable to do the things they love for fear of a drenched shirt. They feel uneasy at work and while doing business.

Western medicine has little to offer to folks with this condition other than topical creams that you need to apply every day. Luckily, acupuncture has something to offer. Most people with hyperhidrosis will notice a decrease in the amount they are sweating after acupuncture treatments. Most people do best receiving 8 to 10 treatments in a 4 to 5 week period, with a follow-up of  less frequent treatments used to help maintain the benefits they have found. Acupuncture is a simple way to get this condition under control, offering no side effects and much stress relief. Get your life back and your self-confidence!
